🔹According to the Office of Communications, Information and International Affairs of Imam Khomeini Airport City (IKAC), today, Wednesday, 7 Aban 1404 (October 29, 2025), Ramin Kashef-Azar, CEO of IKAC, met and held discussions with Stefan Wersmann, Station Manager of Lufthansa Airlines in Iran.
🔹During the meeting, which took place in the CEO’s domain at IKAC’s Head Office, in addition to announcing the resumption of Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa flights, topics such as the development of joint cooperation, increasing flight frequencies and destinations, expanding the air network and outlines of other potential collaborations were discussed.
🔹The CEO welcomed the Lufthansa Group’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation and stated that signing a joint MoU regarding training and leveraging the capacities of both parties according to international standards could positively impact ongoing operations.
🔹Kashef-Azar added that Lufthansa is a valuable business partner and a key stakeholder for IKAC, expressing hope that in the future more flights from Lufthansa Airlines and its subsidiaries would operate from IKAC.
🔹The Lufthansa Station Manager in Iran, while thanking the CEO for the cordial meeting, also appreciated the efforts of the Airport Operations Team and Air Traffic Control (ATC) staff.
🔹Attending the meeting were Mostafa Mahdavi, Security Advisor to the CEO and Director General of Security; Ahoura Mohammadi, CEO Advisor and Director General of Communications, Information and International Affairs; and Majid Rouhi, Deputy Station Manager of Lufthansa at IKAC.
🔹It is noteworthy that according to the announced flight schedule, Austrian Airlines will resume its direct flights between Vienna and Tehran on November 2, 2025, after a several-month suspension. Based on bilateral discussions, Lufthansa Airlines is also expected to commence flights from Tehran to Frankfurt within the next two months.
