🔹 According to the Office of Communications, Information and International Affairs of Imam Khomeini Airport City, Hossein Forouzan, Secretary of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, reviewed the vision of transforming Imam Khomeini Airport City into an innovation hub and an East–West logistics hub for the country during a meeting with officials of the Airport City.
🔹 During the meeting, emphasizing the Airport City’s strategic location and its proximity to Tehran’s leading universities and centers of excellence, he stressed the need to transform the area into a hub for startups and high-tech industries, describing this approach as consistent with successful international models.
🔹 The Secretary of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones outlined the following key priorities for the transformation of Imam Khomeini Airport City:
1. Facilitating Visa Issuance: Creating special opportunities for the entry of traders and economic operators to strengthen commercial exchanges.  
2. Activating the East–West Corridor: Prioritizing the development of East–West logistics connectivity across the country as a vital artery for the national economy.  
3. Benchmarking Leading Free Zones: Leveraging the successful model of China’s free zones in piloting new regulations and reducing tax and customs barriers to attract international investment. 
🔹 Concluding the meeting, Forouzan highlighted the Airport City’s untapped potential and emphasized the need for cross-sectoral cooperation among executive bodies, customs authorities and regulatory institutions to enable the area to serve as an engine of economic growth for the development of the capital and the country.
