🔹 According to the Office of Communications, Information and International Affairs of Imam Khomeini Airport City, a joint meeting was held this morning, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Airport City Hotel’s conference hall, to review the capacities and outline a development roadmap for Imam Khomeini Airport City. The meeting was attended by Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian, Governor of Tehran; Hossein Forouzan, Secretary of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones; Mohammad-Reza Dashti Ardakani, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance; and Ramin Kashefazar, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City. 
🔹 Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian, Governor of Tehran, highlighted the extensive potential of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone and emphasized the need to facilitate investment processes and create the necessary conditions for the participation of domestic and international investors.
He stated that a broader perspective and a modern approach should be adopted to facilitate the entry of international investors, particularly business operators from neighboring countries such as Türkiye, noting that the Airport City’s capacities can provide a foundation for attracting significant foreign investment and implementing major economic projects.
🔹 The Governor of Tehran emphasized the need for the government to play a facilitating role, adding that the government should remove legal and administrative barriers and establish transparent and lawful mechanisms to facilitate the participation and activities of the private sector and investors, enabling existing capacities to contribute effectively to economic development.
🔹 Motamedian also emphasized the need to create special opportunities for the active participation of commercial and industrial operators in the Airport City Free Zone, stating that leveraging the capacities of the private sector and investors can accelerate development, stimulate economic activity, and create employment in the zone.
🔹 He concluded by noting that the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone, with its distinctive economic, commercial, logistics and air transportation capacities, has the potential to become one of the country’s major hubs for trade and economic exchanges.
