Director General of IKAC Free Zone Emphasizes Transforming the Zone into a National Logistics Hub
The Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone emphasized the need to leverage the zone’s capacities to transform it into a national logistics hub and facilitate the customs clearance of essential goods.

🔹 According to the Office of Communications, Information and International Affairs of Imam Khomeini Airport City, Mehdi Zoghi, Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone, at a joint meeting with the Governor of Tehran and the Secretary of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, highlighted the zone’s extensive logistics and trade capacities and emphasized the need to strengthen the Airport City’s position as a central gateway between the country’s trade corridors.
🔹 He stated that maximizing the use of the legal capacities available within the Free Zone would contribute to the development of trade and logistics activities, and called for the facilitation and integration of legal and administrative processes and the removal of structural barriers arising from institutional disparities.
🔹 Zoghi also announced the customs clearance of the first shipment of essential goods using the capacities and legal provisions of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone, describing the measure as an effective step toward facilitating the supply and customs clearance of essential goods.
🔹 The Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone also referred to progress in implementing the incentives related to public transportation vehicles, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements with municipalities and the private sector to provide bus and minibus fleets. He stated that leveraging these capacities could enable the Airport City to play a more effective role in developing public transportation and reducing traffic congestion in the capital.
🔹 Concluding his remarks, Zoghi emphasized the need for the targeted use of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone’s capacities to develop logistics, facilitate trade, and attract investment.
