Country’s Only Smart and Mechanized Customs Warehouse Located in IKAC Free Zone

🔹 According to the Office of Communications, Information and International Affairs of Imam Khomeini Airport City, Mehdi Zoghi, Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone, announced significant growth in operating revenues and the expansion of investment opportunities in the zone during a visit by the Governor of Tehran, the Secretary of the High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance for Parliamentary Affairs, and a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly representing Urmia to the Free Zone’s capacities and achievements.

🔹 Referring to the increase in the Free Zone’s operating revenues, Zoghi stated that operating revenues during the first five months of the current year more than doubled the total revenues of the entire previous year.
🔹 He also announced the unveiling of 29 investment opportunities and the issuance of calls for five investment projects, adding that the projects have been defined in the fields of logistics, advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, tourism, trade, and commerce.
🔹 Referring to the Free Zone’s major projects, the Director General identified the Terminal 2 project as one of the zone’s flagship projects, with the potential to become an international achievement, and stated that these projects are progressing through their implementation stages under the planning and management measures adopted by Imam Khomeini Airport City.
🔹 During a visit to the logistics infrastructure of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone, Zoghi also highlighted the zone’s strategic location, stating that the Free Zone is the country’s only inland free zone and one of the key points where major transportation corridors converge. He added that, with its multimodal transportation capacities, the zone holds a distinctive position within the country’s logistics network.
🔹 Referring to the Free Zone’s modern customs infrastructure, he stated that the country’s only smart and mechanized customs warehouse is located in this area, serving as a unique facility across the nation’s customs and free zones. He noted that, through the use of advanced technologies, the facility enables smart processes to replace traditional warehousing methods.
🔹 The Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport City Free Zone also announced the establishment of performance- and tariff-based competition among logistics operators and emphasized that the use of advanced technologies in warehousing and logistics processes can serve as a scalable and replicable model for other free zones across the country.
