Luggage Services
Lost & Found is a section of airport services that exist at all airports all over the world at the arrival hall, which is responsible for servicing the lost or damaged luggage of passengers. If the luggage does not arrive at the destination, the Lost & Found personnel will obtain the necessary information and documents from the passengers and register them in the mechanized system of tracking the luggage. This system is internationally linked to all airports around the world and as soon as the luggage is found, the personnel of the unit will inform the passengers.
The main activity of Lost & Found is as follows:
- Handling and tracking of passenger’s luggage which did not receive
- Keeping and dispatching unloaded luggage from departure flights to the relevant destinations
- Collecting the left luggage in the arrival hall and deliver to customs at the discretion of the related authorities
- Registering damaged luggage reports and informing the relevant airline
Some points which passengers should notice:
- Dear passengers, please note that the criteria for airline commitments are based on the weight of the luggage and not its real value.
- All airlines, will not be responsible for the loss of valuable items such as cash, jewelry and documents in received luggage. Therefore, it is recommended that you put such items in your handbag and take them into the cabin and refer to the cargo reception unit in order to be guided about insuring precious items.
- Passengers should consider that due to the similarity of many luggage, they should make sure that they belong to them through the tags on the luggage and matching them with the attached receipt. Also, in case of impairment of objects or loss, inform the Lost & Found unit located in the arrival terminal before leaving the hall.
- The luggage must be packed properly and according to standards when delivered to the check-in counter. Otherwise, the airline will not be responsible for any damage to the package. However, if the pack is delivered to the traffic unit and the receipt (Tag) is issued, it is covered by insurance.
- Each of the passenger's accepted luggage by the airline must have a visible tag with the passenger's destination name information on the closed external surface. All old labels and tags must be removed from each package of the passenger's luggage at check-in time.
- During the trip, passengers should keep the receipt of their luggage (luggage tag) that received from the traffic unit of the origin station so that they can provide it to the Lost & Found unit for follow-up if they do not receive the luggage or possible damage.
- Passengers who enter Imam Khomeini Airport and are residents of other cities should compensate or repair damages only in Tehran if their luggage is damaged. Otherwise, the company will not be responsible in other cities.
